How to Connect a Wii VGA or DVI

The Nintendo Wii system has been one of the most popular system of the decade. Featuring motion based controls, the Wii has some of the most innovative games of all time. One of the most unexpected benefits of the system is that it can be used on both HDTVs and Standard Definition TVs. The Wii comes with basic Audio/Video cables and Nintendo does provide component cables for purchase. For those that wish to hook their Wii up with a different set of cables, third party companies do provide them.

Things you need

  • Nintendo Wii

  • Nintendo Wii component cable

  • Wii/PS3 VGA HDTV AV cable

  • DVI to component video adaptor

Ensure that your Wii is receiving power by putting the power cord into an outlet.

Plug the Wii specific input into the Wii using the special third party VGA cable.

Plug the VGA output into the device of your choice.

Ensure that your Wii is receiving power by putting the power cord into an outlet.

Insert the component cable into the Wii as normal.

Attach the component to DVI adaptor on the end of the component cable.

Take your DVI cable and plug it into the display.
