How to Retrieve Deleted Junk Mail on Hotmail

Updated July 19, 2017

If you have ever accidentally deleted an e-mail unintentionally, then you know how frustrating it can be to try to retrieve it. Perhaps you deleted your whole junk mail folder, not realising there was a message you would need within it. Luckily, with MSN's Hotmail e-mail accounts, deleted messages are stored for up to 10 days after being deleted. The e-mails are in a specific folder within your e-mail account before they are permanently eliminated. Retrieving deleted e-mails from this folder is relatively easy.

Log in to your Hotmail e-mail account. Once in your e-mail account, click on the Deleted link on the left side of your screen. This will show all the e-mails you have deleted.

Select the check box next to the email that you would like to recover. Click the "Move to" tab at the top of the screen.

Choose which folder you would like your e-mail to be moved to from the drop down list that shows when you click the "Move to" tab. This will move your e-mail to the selected folder and store it there.
