How to Fix My Whirlpool Washer That Makes Noise During Spin Cycle

The Whirlpool washer is a laundry mainstay for many homes around the world. However, when you start to hear noises coming from the washer, you might be alarmed. The most common problem for a noisy washer is the fact that it is not level. When the washer is not level, it will vibrate and bounce around. Levelling your Whirlpool washer is not a hard task. You will not need the help of a technician level the washer; you can do it yourself.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Move the washer away from the wall so you have access to all sides.

  2. 2

    Put a level across the front panel of the washer. Record the reading on the level.

  3. 3

    Put the level perpendicular to the front panel on the washer. Record the reading on the level.

  4. 4

    Tip the Whirlpool washer back and slide a wood block under the front panel to prop it up. Use a wrench to loosen the nuts holding the feet in place. Adjust the front feet in accordance to the level reading.

    Take the wood block out from under the washer. Put the level on top of the washer and see if the washer's front panel is level. Readjust the washer's feet if necessary.

    Go to the sides of the washer and place the wood block under it to prop it up. Readjust the back feet of the washer so the washer is level.

  7. 7

    Go to the back of the washer and use the wood block to prop it up. Use the wrench to adjust the back feet so the washer is level.

  8. 8

    Take the wood block out from under the washer and turn it on. Listen to see if the washer is still making noise. Readjust the feet if necessary.
