Avast offers free antivirus software for non-commercial and home users, and a Pro version for commercial users and businesses. The Avast antivirus software protects your computer with several real-time monitoring shields that monitor e-mail, Internet connections and computer files to instantly protect you from potential threats. These real-time shields run silently in the background to monitor for viruses and malware, and can interfere with legitimate operations in rare cases, such as installing new software.
