Chrysler produced the Neon under both the Dodge and Plymouth brands. Aside from the maker’s emblems, the Dodge and Plymouth Neons were virtually identical. A single belt-driven alternator was installed on all Neons. If the battery frequently loses its charge, a defective alternator may be the cause. Fortunately, replacing the Neon’s alternator requires no specialised knowledge and is a relatively straightforward task.
