A 4.1 surround-sound speaker system differs only from 5.1 surround-sound speakers in that the 4.1 unit is missing a dedicated centre speaker, being relegated to only distributing sound through the four corner speakers and the sub. Accomplish the connection of your 4.1 speaker system to your computer by wiring the two sets of speakers (front and back) to your computer's sound card.
