A healthy scalp produces healthy hair. But many people have scalp problems. The most common problems are dandruff, dry scalp, oily scalp and scalp acne. Taking care of the scalp is just as important as taking care of the facial skin. Regular care of the scalp and using the right products can help reduce or eliminate scalp problems. Homemade remedies are natural and inexpensive ways to treat scalp problems. Scalp scrubs are a good way to deep clean the scalp.
Riquette Hofstein, beauty expert, author, and creator of "kitchen cosmetics," suggests placing 6 to 8 aspirin tablets in a bowl. Pour in 4 tablespoons of warm water to dissolve the tablets. Aspirin has salicylic acid which is good for treating acne and exfoliating the skin.
Use an old toothbrush to stir the mixture. Dip the toothbrush into the mixture and then scrub a small area of the scalp. Part the hair and scrub all areas of the scalp with the mixture.
Shampoo and condition hair with your usual products. Rinse with lukewarm water to prevent drying out the scalp and hair.
