Windows XP comes with a variety of preinstalled games, including FreeCell, Hearts, Minesweeper, Pinball, Solitaire and Spider Solitaire. If you uninstalled these games because you were no longer interested in them, but suddenly want them back on your computer, you can restore them quickly using the Windows XP installation CD. Windows XP uses an easy-to-use installation wizard that allows you to restore all or specific games.

Insert your Windows XP installation CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" to launch the installed programs window. Click "Add/Remove Windows Components" and click "Accessories and Utilities" (the words, not the checkbox).

  3. 3

Click "Details." Click the "Games" checkbox. Select the games that you want to install on your computer. If you uncheck some of the games currently installed on your computer, Windows XP will remove them. The installation CD reinstalls the Windows XP games.
