An OSP computer file is an "on screen take-off file." These files typically store data formatted as text. Because of this formatting and despite the file extension, you will be able to open any OSP file using a program in Windows called "Notepad." Notepad will display the contents of the file, at which point you can simply view the data or make changes to it.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Right-click on the OSP file that you're trying to open. If you aren't sure exactly where the OSP file you're trying to open is on your computer, you can click "Start" and then "Search" to search for it by file extension.

  2. 2

    Click "Open With..."

  3. 3

Click "Notepad." The text information contained in the OSP file will now open in a Notepad program window on your computer's monitor.
