One of the goals when opening a new website is submitting it to the major search engines. Yahoo, Google and Bing have a simple form where you can submit your website for free. This adds the website to the search engine's index, so you can soon see it listed on search result pages. The amount of time it takes to index your site is dependent on several factors, and some search engines index it faster than others.

Open your web browser and navigate to the Google "Add URL" web page.
Enter your website URL in the text box provided. Add any comments for the Google web team.
Enter the image text in the box shown, and click "Add URL." A confirmation screen is shown verifying your submission was successful.
Open your web browser, and navigate to the "Submit a Site" page.
Click the link labeled "Submit a Website or Web Page." A text box is displayed.
Click the "Add URL" button to submit the site to Yahoo.
Open a web browser and navigate to the Bing web page.
Type the text shown in the image and enter your website URL.
Click the "Submit a Site" button to submit it to Bing.
