How to convert bmp to janome embroidery files

Updated February 21, 2017

Creating files to work on an embroidery machine, such as a Janome, helps you generate distinctive looks when working on projects. Janome is a Japanese company that manufacturers sewing machines worldwide. The embroidery software offered by the Janome Company will take a design you make or an image from the internet, such as a bitmap, and convert it to work on specialised machinery. The system is not complicated. The software does the conversion automatically.

Open the Janome software on your computer. If you do not own this program, you must obtain it from the manufacturer (see Resource section for link).

Click on the "New" button at the top of the screen.

Select a hoop size from the dialogue box.

Move to "File" in the menu at the top of the screen. Select "Import" from the File options.

Locate the BMP file on your hard drive. Press the "Open" button on the dialogue box to import the image. Importing automatically converts the file to the proper format.
