How to Reset the Admin Password on a PS3 Console

Your PlayStation Network profile name, especially the main user (administrator), controls a lot on your PS3 console. To be able to see your friends list or do anything online on the system, you need to access your profile. If you forget your password, the PlayStation has ways you can reset it, and you can make a new password for yourself.

    Power on your PS3 and one controller.

    Select “PlayStation Network” then choose “Sign In.”

    Select “Forgot Your Password” under the sign-in boxes.

    Enter your e-mail address ID and birth date.

  5. 5

    Choose to reset your password by answering the security question or by using your e-mail. If you choose to answer the security question, answer the question and then create a new password. If you choose to use your e-mail, open your e-mail on a computer, click on the link inside and create a new password.
