How to Connect an Acer Aspire 3690 Laptop to a TV Display

Updated April 17, 2017

The Aspire 3690 is a 15-inch laptop created by Acer. Although 15 inches is quite a good screen size, when gaming, watching movies or even viewing pictures, using a larger display can make the experience more enjoyable. Because this laptop features a range of outputs, the display can be routed to either a standard definition using an S-video cable or high definition TV using a VGA cable.

Connect one end of the VGA cable to the VGA output on your laptop -- this should be located at the side. If you have a standard definition TV, use an S-video cable instead.

Connect the other end of the cable to the VGA or S-video input on your TV, which should be located at the back of the TV.

Turn on your TV and switch over to the correct channel -- this will either be an AV channel.

Hold down the "Fn" key on your laptop and push the key featuring the display logo -- this will be one of the "F" keys along the top. Once this is done, the display will be routed to your TV.
