If your mattress routinely slides off of your box spring, it may get in the way of a good night's sleep. If the mattress is not being fully supported by the box spring, you are not being fully supported by the mattress. Keep your mattress from sliding off of your box spring to ensure a good night's sleep.
Remove the mattress from the box spring and prop it up out of the way.
Cut off several long strips of shelf liner. If you have a double bed, one or two strips should be sufficient, but for a king or queen, you will need three or four.
Lay each strip flat along the length of your box spring. You are essentially using the shelf liner to give your mattress and your box spring some traction.
Lay the mattress on top of the box spring again, taking care to keep the shelf liner laying flat between the mattress and the box spring. At this point, you should see no further problems from a slipping mattress.
You may also use a rubber bath mat or a large beach towel to provide traction between the mattress and the box spring.
