Things you need
- Shelf liner
Remove the mattress from the box spring and prop it up out of the way.
Cut off several long strips of shelf liner. If you have a double bed, one or two strips should be sufficient, but for a king or queen, you will need three or four.
Lay each strip flat along the length of your box spring. You are essentially using the shelf liner to give your mattress and your box spring some traction.
Lay the mattress on top of the box spring again, taking care to keep the shelf liner laying flat between the mattress and the box spring. At this point, you should see no further problems from a slipping mattress.
Tips and warnings
- You may also use a rubber bath mat or a large beach towel to provide traction between the mattress and the box spring.
