How to Enter a Boot Sequence on a Compaq Armada Computer

Updated April 17, 2017

To configure a Compaq Armada to boot from CD or another drive device, you must change the settings in the BIOS. The BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) controls the start-up configuration of a computer system and confirms that all devices are in necessary working order.

To access the BIOS on a Compaq Armada, you must perform a fresh boot and hit the set-up key immediately before the operating system loads.

Power off or restart your Compaq Armada. Hit "F10" when the flashing cursor appears on the right-hand side of the screen.

Use the directional pad on your keyboard to navigate to the "Advanced" menu. Scroll to the "MultiBoot" option, then use the right and left arrow keys on the directional pad to change the setting to "Enable."

Use the right and left arrow keys to select which drive you want to boot from. Hit "Enter" to save your settings.

Press the up arrow on the directional pad until you reach the main menu, then select the "File."

Navigate to "Save Changes," then hit "Enter." Press "F10" to restart your computer.

The layout of the BIOS set-up utility may vary depending on your Armada's model number.
