Made for the Windows operating system, Autodesk's Revit is a popular (and powerful) computer-aided design (CAD) program used for architectural modelling and drafting applications. Revit also has several functions to help users layout final blueprints, including a tool for creating door schedules. In other words, the program provides a complete list of all the different types of doors to be used on a particular building project.

Skill level:

  1. 1

    Open your file in Revit.

  2. 2

In the main toolbar, click the "View" tab.

  3. 3

In the resulting drop-down menu, click "New."

  4. 4

Click "Schedule/Quantities" in the new drop-down menu. This will cause a window titled "New Schedules" to pop up.

  5. 5

In the "New Schedules" window, select "Doors" from the category list and click "OK." From there, a window titled "Schedule Properties" will pop up.

  6. 6

Click on "Fields" tab in the Schedule Properties window.

  7. 7

Select one of the fields you want to add to your final door schedule and click "Add." Repeat this process for each of the fields you would like to include.

  8. 8

Click "OK" in the bottom right corner of the Schedule Properties window to create the door schedule. Note that the cells inside the schedule will automatically update every time you save or re-save your file.
