How to Clean a Black Composite Kitchen Sink

Updated February 21, 2017

Composite sinks are made from natural materials that include quartz, slate and granite. These materials make the sinks resistant to scratches under normal use. The look of a black composite kitchen sink will add a touch of elegance to any kitchen. Kitchens with black appliances will stay modern-looking for many years and need only be updated with accessories added to counter tops or walls. Proper cleaning of a black composite sink daily will not only ensure a bacteria-free sink, but one that will maintain its original beauty for years.

Rinse the sink with clean water to remove soap scum or food particles. Cleaning with water immediately will not allow the soap or particles to dry onto the surface of the sink. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Remove stains or soap build-up with a mild dishwashing liquid detergent. Apply a small amount of detergent onto a wet cloth and scrub the sink. Rinse the sink with clean water and wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water, and store in a spray bottle. Use the spray to remove soap scum that is dried on the sink surface. Rinse the sink with clean water and wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Remove stubborn stains with a paste of baking soda and water. Gently scrub the stain with the paste and a soft cloth. Rinse the sink and wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Tip

Avoid using abrasive cleaners that can cause damage to the surface and remove the shine. Kitchen sinks should be cleaned every day.
