Microsoft Word makes it easy for you to print labels for wedding invitations. Using a custom designed label template, you can enter text information and then save the finished work to print now or later. The process is easy and only requires basic word processing knowledge. Because Microsoft Word is the default program for your computer, you don’t have to purchase any new software. You only need to purchase ink for your printer and label paper.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open a new document in Windows Vista by clicking “File,” which is located on the toolbar at the top of the page. Click “New.” A new window will open under the heading “New Document.”

  2. 2

Scroll down the list of available off-line templates, which is located on the left-hand side of the screen. Click, “Label,” and then “Other Labels.”

  3. 3

Scroll down to “Wedding Labels” and click the graphic. Microsoft Word will immediately download the template for the wedding labels. Wait until the template downloads, which could take several seconds.

  4. 4

Click on the first text box, which will already have generic text such, “Thank you for sharing the day with us.” Delete this text, if you do not wish to keep it, by highlighting the text with your mouse pointer and clicking “Delete.” Enter new text.

  5. 5

Click on the second text box. Delete the text. Enter your name and address if you are printing return address labels and the invitees’ address if you are printing address labels. Enter the address of each invitee into a new label. Depending on the template you choose, there may be two labels or a complete page.

  6. 6

Save the labels by clicking “Save As” and selecting a file name for your new wedding invitation labels.

  7. 7

Load blank label sheets or paper into the paper feeder tray. Look for an arrow or marker that indicates which side to enter and in which direction.

  8. 8

Print the labels by clicking “Print” and choosing the number of copies, which must be entered into the “Number of Copies” box in the “Print Properties” window.

Tips and warnings

  • Save on ink and paper by printing a page full of labels instead of one or two per sheet.
  • Use black label sheets in lieu of black paper, if possible. Paper without an adhesive backing must be bonded using a small dot of glue.
  • Always double-check that each address is current and contains the correct apartment number, if applicable, and postcode.
