Samsung TV/VCR combos provide a compact space for home entertainment. There may come a time when you'd like to connect a separate component, such as a gaming system, to the television, but the remote control is either broken or cannot be found. The TV input setting must be changed to operate external components and the remote control provides direct access to this function. Without a remote you can still change the input setting by following these steps.

  1. 1

Turn on the Samsung television and wait for the image to appear.

  2. 2

Plug an external component into a set of jacks on the back of the TV cabinet or use the front set of audio-video jacks. The rear jacks are typically input 1 and the front jacks are input 2. Plug the yellow cable into the video jack and the red and white audio cables into their corresponding jacks.

  3. 3

Press and hold the up or down channel button to scroll quickly through the channels. Once you get below 2 or above the highest channel number the TV can receive, the choices for input 1 and input 2 will appear.

  4. 4

Release the channel button when you reach the desired input setting.
