    Setting up

  1. 1

First you want to set up your supplies and decide what type of board game you are going to make. Once you have all your supplies and a clear plan in mind, you can start.

  2. 2

You want to start by drawing an outline of your board game in pencil on your foam board. It is a good idea to draw a rough draft on a separate piece of paper first. You will want to draw out any special spaces on your board.

  3. 3

Outline in Sharpie and colour in any spaces you may have. You can use stickers for special spaces if you would like.

  4. 4

Use your creativity and add any extra items you would like on your board game.

  5. 5

Make a set of rules and instructions for your game.

Tips and warnings

  • To save money, instead of buying white foam board you can use cardboard. Or consider recycling old games into new games. You will then have a box to put your new game into and possibly game tokens and supplies to use.
