It is easy to find out who owns a website domain by doing what is called a WHOIS lookup. WHOIS is a protocol that allows you to look up domain name registrations and find out who registered a domain name, when it was registered and other details. Although it is required that all domain registrations include such information, some companies and individuals may choose to register through a third party to keep their information private. In a case such as that, you may need to contact the third party to find the true owner of the domain name.
