If your little one is in love with the Disney channel and its characters, you should consider making a Disney cake. This cake would make a great birthday cake, but it could be made just for fun or as a treat for a child who has behaved well. The cake itself can be made in a short amount of time. While the cake cooks, you use your computer to find the perfect Disney character to adorn your cake.

- Vegetable oil
- Betty Crocker supermoist cake mix, milk chocolate
- Mixing bowl
- Cake pans
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Disney clip art
- Colour printer
- Betty Crocker vanilla frosting
- Tube of coloured frosting
Crack 3 eggs into your mixing bowl and remove any shells.
Add 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, 1 1/4 cups water and the Betty Crocker cake mix to the mixing bowl, and combine them until there are no lumps.
Spray your cake pans with non-stick cooking spray.
Divide the cake mix evenly between the two cake pans.
Heat the oven to 176 degrees C. Place the cake pans in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until a fork comes out clean.
Go to DisneySites Clipart (see resources). Type the character that your child loves the most in the search box. This will bring you back all the clip art on that particular character. You could also just search through the site until you find one that you like.
Choose the size you want of that character and then save it to your computer by right-clicking your mouse and choosing "Save As." Then print out the character.
Use a pair of scissors to cut the character out and set it aside.
Let your cakes cool off before icing them.
Ice your cakes and then stick your Disney character on the top middle of the cake.
Place the cake in the freezer for 5 minutes so that the picture sets in the frosting.
Take a tube of any colour frosting and create a border around the picture so that no one sees the edges of the paper.
Tips and warnings
- Use chocolate frosting instead of vanilla only if your Disney picture is light enough to stand out.
- Don't frost the cake while it is still hot, or the frosting will slide off of the cake.
