You may want to put some special thought into your parent's anniversary this year. Instead of simply saying "Happy Anniversary," consider making your parents a card to celebrate their wedding anniversary. A homemade card means much more to your parents than a Hallmark version you can pick up in any store.

  1. 1

Pick up card stock. You can find card stock at any craft store. You'll also want to purchase markers, stickers, glitter, glue or anything else you may want to use to decorate your parent's anniversary card.

  2. 2

Print out an anniversary card template. Use a software program to create your own card on the computer or print out a template through the American Greetings website (see Resources).

  3. 3

Find a romantic sentiment to print on the card. Besides your own special message, you should include a quote that discusses love in a special way. Get inspiration from a book of poetry or find quotes about love at the Loving Quotes Collection website (see Resources).

  4. 4

Use bright colors to decorate the anniversary card. Anniversaries are a time to celebrate love and should be expressed by the use of bright colors, like yellows, reds and blues.

  5. 5

Decorate the rest of the anniversary card. After writing your sentiment in the card, fold the stock. Draw or color in any designs you want on the front cover. Surprise your parents with the card on their special day.
