Instructions

  1. 1

Locate the cables for the power button, reset switch and hard drive LED. The cables are connected to the interior of the front plate of the pc case. Untie and separate the cables if needed.

  2. 2

Flip the cables over to read the names labeled on the connectors. For example, the label for the hard drive cable typically reads "HDD LED."

  3. 3

Refer to the motherboard manual for the locations of the PN1 and PN2 connector groups. Connect the cables to the designated connectors to ensure proper installation.

  4. 4

Find the corresponding set of pins for the power, reset switch and hard drive LED on the motherboard. The pins are typically labeled "PWSW," "RESW" and "LED."

  5. 5

Connect the cables to the corresponding set of pins by lining up the black wire of each cable to the pin labeled "GND," meaning ground.

Tips and warnings

  • Some PC cases have both a hard drive LED and power LED. Check the motherboard specifications for correct installation of the hard drive LED.
  • The power, reset switch and hard drive LED cable connectors are easy to connect to any pin set or upside down on the motherboard. Double-check your installation.
