Instructions

  1. 1

Prepare a 22.5 x 32.5 cm (9 x 13 inch) chocolate sheet cake or pan of brownies following the recipe on the box. Allow the cake or brownies to cool completely before slicing into small squares.

  2. 2

Make the instant vanilla pudding following the recipe on the box while the cake is cooling. True chocolate lovers may prefer chocolate pudding rather than vanilla.

  3. 3

Gather the remaining ingredients and a trifle bowl.

  4. 4

Layer the trifle ingredients in the following order: cake squares, chocolate syrup and instant pudding. Repeat the process twice and then spread the whipped cream on top of the layers.

  5. 5

Sprinkle chocolate jimmies over the top of the whipped cream layer of your trifle.

  6. 6

Refrigerate until time to serve dessert.
