Global distribution systems connect travel agents to airlines, hotels, cruise lines, car hire companies and other travel services, allowing them to make reservations through a central point. Sabre and Amadeus are the two largest GDS portals for airline services. With the GDS code you can check your flight's status, book extra services and print your itinerary. Both systems have an app you can install on your smartphone to access your travel details on the move.

Check your confirmation email for a six-character alphanumeric GDS reservation number. If you can't find it, ask your travel agent.
Analyse the reservation number to find out which system was used. A code of letters only beginning with a letter between A and W is a Sabre code. Amadeus codes typically start with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, X, Y or Z.
Visit the CheckMyTrip website (see Resources) on your computer to check an Amadeus code. Go to Virtually There if you have a Sabre code (see Resources), or access the appropriate system through its mobile app.
Enter your GDS number in the "Reservation Number" or "Reservation Code" field. Type your surname in the "Last Name" or "Passenger Last Name" field and press "Enter" or click or tap "View Itinerary."
