Users of Irish broadband and telecoms provider Eircom's email service won't need the luck of their fellow country-folk to get back on track if something goes wrong with their account. If you're an Eircom customer and have experienced problems with your email, running through a few troubleshooting steps should put matters right. However, you could find accessing your account a little tougher if you haven't logged in to take a look at your mail for some time.

Contact Eircom customer services if you haven't logged into your account for over six months. If you haven't accessed your Eircom email for half a year, the company will disable your account. You can request that your account be reopened by contacting the firm. If you go for nine months without accessing your Eircom email, it will be permanently deleted.
Make sure your email client is properly configured to receive your Eircom mail. You can find instructions on how to set up your client on Eircom's website. If you don't have an email client, you'll need to download one. Check Eircom's website for a list of compatible software options.
Change your email settings by clicking on the "Options" tab at the top of your email client. Select the "General" tab to change basic settings such as the font size and colour your mail's displayed in. Hit the "Mail" tab to can change how your messages are displayed and set mail forwarding.
Check your email client's user guide or help section to make sure it's configured correctly. Even if you've connected your Eircom account to your client as you should have, some of its settings could be stopping you from sending and receiving emails or downloading attachments. Make sure you haven't got any blocks or filters set up that limit your email access.
