How to Get Rid of Bad Smelling Burps

Expelling smelly air from your mouth can be caused by eating an excess of sulphur-containing foods or various health disorders. Whatever the reason, bad smelling burps can be embarrassing. Whether you are in a public or private setting, getting rid of smelly burps can restore your confidence around people and create a happier, healthier you.

Remove sulphur-containing foods from your diet such as eggs, dairy products like milk and cheese, red meats and whey proteins. Sulphur can also cause the build-up of gases, causing more frequent burping.

Get tested by a medical professional for small intestinal or gallbladder disorders. Disorders of these two organs may cause bad smelling sulphur burps even without the consumption of sulphur-containing foods.

Take Pepto Bismol or any anti-diarrheal drug. According to Health Hype (, anti-diarrheal drugs will attach itself to the hydrogen sulphide that produces the smelly odour and remove it from the gastrointestinal tract.
