How to make raspadinha

Add strawberries to a blender and mix well. You will want to use fresh or frozen strawberries and not strawberries in a can or with artificial flavourings. Add a teaspoon of sugar and continue to blend. If you like another fruit, you can add this instead. Or you can also make a combination of flavours. Try fruity medleys like strawberry and lime, strawberry and pineapple, or strawberry and orange.

Add the crushed ice to a blender and pulse for about 30 seconds. It should be well combined with the strawberries, but still have little icicles to create a slush like consistency. Taste the drink. If it is too watery, add more fruit. Or if it is too fruity, add more ice. Serve immediately in a tall chilled glass with a long straw. Drink right away otherwise it will melt. You can also make a drunken version adding vodka or cachaça, a Brazilian spirit.
