Normal height dining tables measure between 27 to 30 inches high. This measurement is taken from the floor to the table's top. Not all dining tables are normal height, so always measure before purchasing chairs.

Seat Height

When selecting dining chairs, the seat height of the chair should measure 10 to 12 inches less than the height of your dining table.

Tip

Some tables have an overhang extending a few inches downward from the tabletop. Measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of the apron if you are purchasing armchairs to make sure the arms will slide underneath.
