Terramycin ointment is an antibiotic ointment used to treat infections by inhibiting the growth of bacteria. This medicine is in a group of drugs known as tetracyclines. Other tetracycline medications are doxycycline, tetracycline and minocycline.

Warning

The use of tetracycline medications can cause a darkening of the teeth, therefore, do not use in puppies that have not yet had teeth erupt. This medicine is not recommended for use in dogs that have kidney disease or an allergy to tetracycline medications.
