In many businesses or organisations, the quality assurance branch provides procedural guidance to various processes within the organisation concerning quality control and testing. A quality assurance officer can work in a wide range of industries ranging from manufacturing and logistics to health services and government administration.


A quality assurance officer supervises daily activities of a quality assurance branch or division. This includes creation, review or revision of policies that affect processes in a working environment. Quality assurance officers are also responsible for creating audit programs to review various processes in a work environment to ensure standards are being followed. The officer coordinates with other managers to discuss quality control standards according to their function within the organizational chart of a business or organisation.

The quality assurance officer must be able to interpret quality control policies when the situation arises. The officer can conduct research on quality assurance processes and must be ready to provide solutions within the quality assurance process.

Education and Salary

A bachelor's or master's degree in business or management meets the educational requirements to be considered as a quality assurance officer. Businesses and organisations tend to hire quality assurance officers who have tenure and have worked as a quality assurance technician within the organisation.
