If you encounter problems while operating your Kipor generator, following a few diagnostic steps may help you locate and resolve the underlying issue.
If your Kipor generator fails to start properly, your first step should be to check that the device has sufficient fuel. Check the lines leading from the fuel tank for cracks or leakage and install a replacement line, if necessary. If everything looks in order, loosen the drain screw on the carburettor to confirm the fuel is making it that far; if not, drain the fuel tank and check the fuel line and fuel filter for debris (use compressed air to clear any obstructions away). Finally, check the spark plug; if you notice moisture, clean the spark plug and check the carburettor's float valve and choke for problems.

Should the generator abruptly stop running, first check the oil and fuel levels, then drain the fuel tank and examine the fuel line, fuel supply pipe and fuel filter for any kind of blockage. Next, examine the gasket between the carburettor and heat installation block to ensure the seal is still tight. If you notice no problems, the next step is to perform a cylinder compression check. Begin by removing the spark plug, then insert a compression gauge into the spark plug hole. Pull the starter rope a few times to test the compression, then examine the measurements on the gauge. The expected cylinder compression is 65 psi at 800rpm; if the compression looks low, look for problems on the piston, piston ring, valves and inside the combustion chamber.
To work properly, the generator's carburettor requires sufficient air flow. If the device's air cleaner gets clogged with debris, performance may degrade as a consequence. Periodically inspect and clean the air cleaner to ensure that everything remains working smoothly. You can find the air cleaner underneath the maintenance cover; remove both the fine and rough elements of the air cleaner and wash them in soapy water. Dry them off, dip them into some clean engine oil and then squeeze out the excess oil. Dry the elements a second time and they're ready for use once more.
While you have the maintenance cover open, check the oil levels and change out the oil, if you haven't done so in a while. If you do this while the engine is still warm, the oil will drain more quickly. Have the engine switch and the fuel cap vent lever in the "OFF" position prior to performing any maintenance.
