How to Attach Suspenders to Dress Pants

Video transcription

Hi, do you have suspenders and don't know how to wear them? I'm Wendi Braswell, style and beauty expert. I'm here today to show you how to attach your suspenders to your dress pants. First of all, you need a nice pair of dress pants. Let's start off with that. I like a darker color, a light pleat in the front and these are the suspenders. I suggest a dark suspender, first of all so turn around. I'm going to show you the placement of the back of the suspenders to attach them to dress pants. First of all, you have two belt loops. They should be pretty much in line with those belt loops and you'll attach from the back that. You're going to take it along the back, turn back around, snugly. You don't want them too loose, and you don't want them too tight because you need to be comfort. You need to be able to sit down and get up. So, this is pretty okay. So, you need to be able to do this without it flipping back or you won't be able to sit down. First of all these are adjustable. I recommend that, okay, for comfort reasons as well, to get the right width. Let me show you how to attach it to the dress pants. First of all, these are clip. We're going to unclip it, and as you can see, we're going to go straight across the chest and I'm going to pull just slightly and we're going to attach it directly to the dress pant and clip. Now, there's two options to wear that. You can wear it underneath the belt or on top of the belt. I'm going to leave it on top of the belt. It should be a straight vertical line coming from the back. That's how you wear suspenders with dress pants. It's a great look, try it. It looks great when you take your jacket off at work. I'm Wendi Braswell, style and beauty expert.
