How to Link to a Group in DeviantART

DeviantART is a website that allows you to create your own free art gallery, communicate with other artists and join art groups about topics that you enjoy. The website uses its own shorthand code to allow you to link to a group's main page while automatically using the group's icon. You do not need to know the group page's URL or use any sort of HTML code to create this link.

  1. Log in to your deviantART account.

  2. Navigate to the group page and record the name of the group. This is displayed in the top left corner next to the group's icon.

  3. Highlight the following deviantART code, right-click and select "Copy" from the menu:

  4. :iconusername:

  5. Navigate to the location on the deviantART website where you want to create a link to the group. This can be in a comment, journal, forum post or any other place on the website where you can type text.

  6. Right-click in the text box and select "Paste" to paste a copy of the code.

  7. Highlight "username" within the code and replace it with the name of the group. Make sure the spelling is correct and that there are no spaces between the word "icon" and the name of the group.

  8. Click the "Preview" button to ensure that the link is working properly. DeviantART will automatically create a link to the group using the group's icon.

  9. Click "Send" to post the link to the deviantART group.
