If you're looking for a simple but creative costume for Halloween or a costume party, consider putting together a Julius Caesar costume. Caesar was a famous Roman emperor who was notoriously murdered on the steps of the Roman Forum.
His dress was characterised by a toga and a head garland, which is easy to recreate using just a bit of materials and tools, some of which you may already have on hand.
Drape an old white sheet around your body so it falls like a column, covering the legs but leaving the arms uncovered.

Gather the fabric at the shoulders and safety pin at each shoulder so the sheet hangs from your shoulders like a toga.
Tie a thin piece of gold ribbon around each safety pin to conceal the pin.
Glue together about 12 fake leaves from a craft store, making them into a U-shape.
Lay the leaf formation on a sheet of newspaper and spray with gold spray paint. Let dry.
Secure the leaf headpiece to your hair with hair clips.
