Give kitchen cupboard doors a facelift with a good cleaning. This simple procedure is often overlooked when considering how to make your kitchen look new. Dirt and grease accumulate with daily use which can dull the cabinets. Depending on how long it has been since you cleaned them, this can take an hour or longer. But the process is not costly or difficult and the results will impress your friends. Your cupboards will look fresh and clean.
Dilute one part dish soap in two parts water. Dip the sponge in the soapy water and squeeze out excess water.
Wash the cupboard doors in the same direction as the grain of wood. Take special care around the knobs or edges of cupboard doors.
Use the green scrub pad that has a little more texture to remove dirt from tougher areas that do not seem to be getting clean. Be careful not to scratch the surface with excessive pressure. Test on a small area first.
Rinse the cabinets with warm water using a clean sponge or cloth. Dry completely with a clean cloth or towel.
Mix half vinegar with half warm water. Use a sponge and dip into the mixture, squeezing out the excess.
Wash the cupboard doors in the same direction of the wood grain.
Rinse the sponge in clear water and rinse the cupboards. Dry with a clean cloth.
- Never use steel wool, scrub brushes or other harsh abrasives that can scratch the wood.
- Clean from the top of the cupboard down.
- Never leave water on the surface.
