Hi, I'm Ron Duncan with House to Home, and today I'm going to show you how to replace a ceiling light fixture with a new fixture. We're going to need: side cutters, a straight blade screwdriver, wire strippers, a Phillips screwdriver and three yellow wire nuts. So, we disconnected the power, I have my ladder setup and I'm simply going to unscrew the pendant. At the box in the ceiling, here we have a mock up and this is the incoming power and here is my new fixture so I'm simply going to hook black to black, white neutral to the white neutral and I'm going to tie the two grounds together. So, first I'm going to use my strippers and I'm going to strip a piece of the neutral and I'm going to strip a piece of the hot and again this is my hot coming in. I want to make a good connection so that's why I need my side cutters. In order to make a good connection I'm going to twist these two first together and it makes a nice connection, cut off that little bit of wire there and I'm going to put on my wire nut, the yellow wire nut. And I do the same with the neutral and the grounds. I twist them together, put the wire nut in there and there I have a very good connection. So, I've made my final connections, all I have to do is put the canopy up tight and screw in the connector piece and turn the power back on. This has been Ron Duncan with House to Home, and that's how you replace an existing ceiling light with a new fixture
