Hi, my name is Chris Wade and I'm a Contractor in the City of Los Angeles. Today, I'm going to show you how to fix a toilet that won't stop running. There's going to be only two reasons why your toilet will, can have a continuous run that you hear. Inside the, the tank here, there are two places to check to troubleshoot to see which one it is. If you see here, just little component right here is what feeds the water into the toilet when you flush it. And what will keep the water running is if the water level is too high, water will start coming in here and it won't allow this mechanism to do his job and stop this portion of the water from running. So what you want to do and if that's the case, if you see that the water is running in here, you're going to want to take this thing and you're going to want to turn it and what that's going to do is that's going to, if the ball starts to ride, it's going to stop it before the water level gets to this, this point right here. Now, the other reason why water could have a continuous run, that when you lift this up and the water starts to retrieve into the ball and if this thing does not seal back down properly, the water from the ball will keep running because it's actually sipping through down in there. Now normally, that will be due to usually a chain is either caught up in something or its length and it's not just allowing the water, or allowing the, the stopper to stop back down. So, what you want to do is you want to check your chain or your rubber linkage here and make sure it's not being caught up in this thing right here or anything of that nature. And the other thing you want to do is you want to just kind of feel down here and make sure there's nothing that is obstructing this from dropping all the way down. And that should take care of your constant running water problem. That's about it.
