Hi, my name's Bob Linde. I'm an acupuncture physician and registered herbalist in St. Petersburg, Florida. Today, I'm going to talk to you about using acupuncture for plantar fasciitis. So, acupuncture is a wonderful ans very effective approach to plantar fasciitis. It's a common problem, it afflicts so many people. Oftentimes, it's associated with wearing high heel shoes, or sometimes just working on hard surfaces, or just not stretching often enough. So, your acupuncture physician will actually do a good evaluation to ensure that they have a good diagnostic approach to it, that will utilize different points based on a particular individual. They may also do massage, as well as give you a number of stretches that can all be very, very effective in dealing with plantar fasciitis. So, today we're going to actually use one particular point that's commonly used for plantar fasciitis. This point is actually right by the Achilles tendon, just behind the ankle, and is also used for a variety of other problems as well. But, this one is oftentimes used in combination with a number of other points, some on the foot, some may even be used on the hand, the ear, and throughout the body. It will all be effective in helping to deal with the plantar fasciitis, and the pain, and the inflammation, as well as the contraction that's oftentimes associated with it. So, if you're looking to use natural means to deal with plantar fasciitis, acupuncture should be your first stop. So, once we've left this needle in for about 20 minutes, we can go ahead and remove it, and properly dispose of that. So, if you're looking for an acupuncture physician to help you with your plantar fasciitis in your area, you can check with, or NCCAOM, who licenses all of the acupuncture physicians in the United States.
