Hi I'm Tara Pollak, physical therapist at "Evolution Physical Therapy" here to teach you how to fit an elastic knee sleeve. Now I'm going to show Shonte how to pull on a knee sleeve. You want to make sure that it's sized appropriately for you. They usually come in a box and on the back are the measurements so that you can gage which one would be appropriate for you. Now a knee sleeve helps to control swelling. It can also keep the joint warm during activity or provide a little bit of sense of stability to your knee. So Shonte go ahead and take the knee sleeve with the bigger side on the top and the smaller side on the bottom and pull it on over your foot. Good, pull it all the way up to the knee so that the mid portion of this sleeve is right in the middle of the kneecap. Good. So, it should be comfortable while it's on. You should be able to stick two fingers down into it without any problem. If you find that when you're up walking around, the sleeve tends to buckle or fall down, it's too large. Or if you tend to get any numbness or tingling in the lower leg it tends to be too tight so make sure you size this appropriately. I'm Tara and this is how to fit an elastic knee sleeve.
