Hello. My name is Jacklyn Laflamme, and I'm a professional artist with In this clip, I'm going to show you how to paint modern acrylic landscapes. You will need canvas. You will need paint. You will need paintbrushes. You will need a paint palette. When you think of a modern landscape, you can use very wild colors. You want to try to get away from doing traditional landscape, which would be little green rolling hills. So, I'm going to start off with some pink. You can see that I've already started off painting the background, and I've got a little bit of a sky effect. So, now I'm just going to do my horizon line, and start working on the foreground of the landscape. And in a modern landscape, it could just be something as simple as just putting lines in to depict where the land would lie. It doesn't even need to be figurative or little rolling hills or little cows in the landscape. You can just create a whole entire landscape just using color. I'm going to just get some orange here and add a little bit of orange to it, and that would give the illusion of a sunset on the land. So, you see how I'm--just by changing the color, it almost looks like land but it's not realistic. It's got a much more of a modern art approach... a contemporary approach. And I'm just dragging my brush across. And a nice technique to use is drag your brush across and then you can put it on its side, and make the lines a little bit thicker. And you can just continue playing with the colors and mixing them together, blending them together, and eventually you will have a modern landscape. This is Jacklyn Laflamme. Thank you for watching.
