Hello. My name is Jacklyn Laflamme, and I'm a professional artist with In this clip, I'm going to show you how we paint trees. You will need canvas. You will need paint. You will need paintbrushes. You will need a paint palette. We're going to start off by doing the outline and the branches. So, I'm going to dip my brush into some brown paint, which I've mixed using red, yellow and blue. So, I'm going to pull the brush up here just to get the base of the trunk and one of the first branches. And again, I'm just going to do the same thing on the other side. You see how I'm just pulling my brush up? I'm going a little lighter and a little heavier, just to get some texture of the branches, just with one brushstroke. Then you can come in and just go really quickly, again, going harder and softer on the brush so that you get the texture in of the branches. And don't worry if they're not perfect, because we're going to go in and paint the leaves over them. So, this is just to give a little bit of a silhouette behind the leaves. And you can go in and fill in more branches, but right now I'm going to switch brushes. I'm going to go to a little bit bigger paintbrush, and I'm going to dip into the green and a little bit of yellow, and I'm just going to start forming some of the leaves. And how I'm going to do that, is just by taking my brush and doing just some like wavy brushstrokes. Just wavy brushstrokes over the branches. And this is going to be the base coat for the leaves of the tree. And once you get all that done, then you could take a smaller brush again--just like so--and dip it in the green paint and you can just start forming the leaves. So you want to get the whole base done--filled in really quickly--and then you can go in and just start finalizing the detail. And you can even go back, if need be, and add a couple more branches and just play with it until the tree is full. And you just keep going back and forth between the branches, the background, and the detail of the leaves, and eventually you will have a beautiful tree. This is Jacklyn Laflamme. Thank you for watching.
