When removing oil-based paint it's best to use a cup of turpentine, paper towels, mineral spirits and a rag. Clean off a paint-stained surface the right way with tips from an artist in this free video on painting.
Hello, I'm Angeline-Marie, a professional artist with AngelineMarie.net. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to remove oil paint. You will need a cup of turpentine. You will need paper towel. You will need mineral spirit. You will need a rag. Let's say you're painting, you have a limited studio and you get paint on something. Oh! The first thing you're going to need is a paper towel, and wipe it off the object that it landed upon. The better way of doing this is when the paint is fresh and it is wet. The next thing you are going to do is take some mineral spirit and start blotting the area. Blot. Blot. You can use paper towel or you can use a rag and just keep blotting that area. After a little bit, that paint will be almost gone and you can start rubbing it off. You may also want to use a little bit of turpentine if it's something that can safely handle it. And you can rub that on and get the color off as well. And that is how to remove oil paint. This has been Angeline-Marie. Thank you for watching.
