Hello, I'm Jacklyn Laflamme. I'm a professional artist with JacklynLaflamme.com. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to prepare a canvas for acrylic paint. You will need a canvas. You will need a can of Gesso. You will need paintbrushes. We already have our canvas stretched. It's stapled in the back, and we are going to have it on our easel. The next step is going to be to Gesso the canvas. So, you are going to start off with your Gesso, and you want to take your brush, and you are just going to do strokes right across the canvas and Gesso it in, just like this. You are going to go all the way across your canvas, and make sure you cover the whole surface with your Gesso. And, you want to keep your brushstrokes going across the canvas. So, you're just going to want to continue Gesso-ing your canvas, and always keep your brushstrokes straight across. And once it dries, then you are ready to start your acrylic painting. This is Jacklyn Laflamme; thank you for watching.
