"Hi, I'm Lizbeth Muller and I'm a professional hairstylist with LizsHairDesign.com. In this clip, I'm going to show you how to put rods in for a perm. You'll need perm rods, you'll need end papers, you'll need a comb. So the first thing we're going to do is, make sure we wash or clean one time, don't over wash the hair. I've sectioned off the hair here, to go ahead and place the perm rods in the hair. When you're doing perms, you want to do thin sections, you don't want to take too much hair for the rods. You want to use an end paper in the hair. Placing the end paper on the end of the hair. Make sure that you place it to the very end, where it doesn't form a fish hook. And I'm using medium size rods for her. We're going to go ahead and roll the hair down, nice and neatly, down, down, down, down, down, down. And we're going to place it like this. There are all types of sizes of perm rods, you have smaller ones and there's also long perm rods. Again, you're going to take this section here, small section. And you're going to go ahead and do the same all over, doing separate sections of the hair. And that's how you place perm rods in the hair. This has been Lizbeth Muller, thank you for watching."
