Hi, my name is Diesel and I'm the owner and operator of 4U2C mobile auto detailing here in beautiful hot Atlanta, Georgia. Now, I'm going to show you how to clean a convertible top. Basically what you want to use you want to use a good convertible top cleaner. Go to any auto part places and find a really good brand. Basically all you want to is you want to rinse the top of the car the best you can. We've already done that. We're indoors now. We can't do it anymore. What you want to do is you want to spray the cleaner really want to follow the directions on the bottle because each manufacturer might have a different way that they want you to do it. Get the top good and saturated. Then you just want to take a brush and brush the cleaner in making sure to get into all the threaded areas where the seams meet and do like that. Sometimes you can take a rag and kind of wipe off the excess. One thing you might what to do is you might want to let it air dry, and like I said depending on this right here, all you have to do is wipe it off, but some of them you actually have to take it back outside, rinse it off again and then let the sun dry it. One thing you don't want to do is you really don't want to use soap and water on a convertible top because the materials they're using now they're using nowadays you need something with a low PH balance something that's really mild. So you really don't want to use soap and water on the top of the car. Plus, you don't want to have to get out the residue from the suds and everything. It takes a long time. So, the best thing to use is a cleaner that's design for it and of course if you have rips and tear on the top, you really want to be careful because you don't want to get the inside of the car wet. You start getting the problems like that, you might have to go to the upholstery shop and get them to repair the damage for you.
