"Hi my name is Tanya Batts and I'm a personal trainer with Gold's Gym. I want to talk to you about how to improve your posture. Basically posture is the strength of your muscles in your back. So if you're really round through the back, if you strengthen the muscles in the back you're going to be standing tall and your posture is just going to be so much better. So I'm going to show you a few exercises that are really going to help with your posture and they're really quite simple. You're going to come all the way down the floor. Probably the easiest way to start is kind of an opposite arm opposite leg. And you want to make sure you're looking straight down at the mat so you don't hurt the neck. Then you want to switch it, switch it. Then maybe you can lift arms and legs at the same time. Kind of lift and hold and then lower down. Maybe to make that a little more challenging. Hands right down by your sides, lift and lower. Or fingertips on the head. That is going to strengthen that lower back. And it's real important to keep the strength of the back strong as well as the butt muscles. Strong butt. So fingertips, arms long, or opposite arm, opposite leg. Just a few great ways to really strengthen that lower back. So you'll be standing tall, you might even begin, maybe even get an inch taller. But that's how you really improve posture."
