For me painting is one of the, like I said one of the main focuses of one of the main concepts of a room. So when you decide on a focal point of a room usually the second thing we decide on is the color or what is going to be the color scheme of the room and a lot of times that involves painting the walls. With, painting the walls you know truly it can be as conservative and traditional or as modern and out of this world as you want it to be. You can stop abruptly on the wall, you can create accent walls that have nothing to do with the rest of the theme of the room to kind of throw it for a loop. A lot of times I have had artists like especially in children's rooms, artists come in and paint a small mural on the wall that will truly create the hole atmosphere of the room by a small mural that is on the wall that truly identifies the room as towards a certain theme or towards a certain idea that you want the person to feel when they walk into a room. One of the big fads right now is to create textures with sponges or with cloths or, you can mix sand in with the paint to create textures on the walls, however there is a huge risk of going overboard if you, you know a lot of people say, "Okay I want a texture in a room," and they put a texture in a small room and all the sudden you have completely lost the effect of the texture, you have either made it too dominant or it is the room is too big and it does not make sense. So it is all about looking at the space and deciding what is going to work for the space and what truly creates a a pleasurable experience within the space without being too overbearing or losing the effect of the of the original color or texture.
