Hi I'm Tim Gipson and I'm going to talk to you about how to build a cheap fence. Now in order to keep your cost down on a fence there are a few things you can do. You can make it a shorter fence, use less materials. You can use a picket style fence because essentially the fewer materials you have then the lower cost and the lower amount of labor that is going to be involved in that so this is a fence and gate here that is constructed more along the lines of a privacy fence so it is going to use a lot more wood which is going to keep your cost up. Now some other things you can do to keep your cost down you can either nail your fence in or you can screw your fence in. Using nails is going to be a more cost effective way to go about it besides screwing the boards in place. Regardless of what you do though you are going to need to construct your fence in such a way that you have your posts, that you have your crossbars and you have your fencing attached to the crossbar. Also minimizing the number of gates or openings that you have can help keep your costs down and some other things you can do is if you do not need a fully enclosed fence, if you are just adding a fence along one side of your yard, if your intentions are just to make it accent then you don't have to close your fence in all the way. There are ways to terminate your fence, just run along one line and that will help keep your cost down so just in sum, in order to build a cheap fence what you want to use is use nails instead of screws, you want to minimize the amount of material that you are going to use as far as you can do that by height or by spacing of your pickets and also another way to do it is to do the work yourself as opposed to hiring it out. You can save a lot of money by not expending labor. So I'm Tim Gipson and that's how to build a cheap fence.
